Every night, from the time they were babies, we have sung songs to our kids. As they've gotten older, they get to choose what song they sing. Lately, Ellie always requests, "I want to sing a song that I learned up", meaning a song that she makes up on the spot. They are usually about people that get eaten up by animals or animals that get eaten up by people or animals that get eaten up by other animals or houses that catch on fire or any other sad story - that strangely isn't sad when they are told in song format from the mind of a three year old. She always tells us the subject of the song, sometimes a brief synopsis of what it is going to be about (usually the song, just in talking format), and occasionally, we even get a title.
Tonight's song was one of my favorites.
Title: "Peggy Went Out To See the Lord"
Synopsis: Peggy went out to see the Lord
Song lyrics: "Peggy went out to see the Lord. She wanted to choose the right."
After she sang that much, I think she realized how unexciting it was (in her opinion) and said she didn't want to sing that one anymore and changed the song title to "Peggy went out to see some animals."
Peggy ended up getting eaten by the animals she went to see................surprise.

Maybe I should be worried......
