We had a lesson about integrity last night. Peyton and Ellie loved it. They listened and participated and gave all the right answers as I told them stories about breaking a window accidentally, but having the integrity to tell them even if nobody saw you...or taking something that isn't yours and having the integrity to go and give it back...and more great stories. I really was thinking it went wonderfully and at the end of the lesson, I gave a challenge.
"I hope that we can all work on having integrity this week and think about integrity. I know we'll be happier. Do you guys think you can do that?"
Ellie: "Sure Mom."
Peyton: " Yeeeeees...............so you want us to think of something bad to do this week........and then have integrity to tell you about the bad thing that we decided to do?"
I need to work on my lesson giving skills....and think of some better stories to illustrate integrity that don't involve doing bad things in order to have integrity.
PS- I am so ready for spring!!!! It has been a cold winter....

You just happen to have some really smart kids. Please share the follow ups to this integrity lesson!
I thought of you tonight as I started reading the book club book The Hollow Kingdom (Becky's choice) and I got so scared. During the day I read a few pages and it didn't seem so bad and so I picked it up again tonight and YIKES! Bryan is out of town and I prayed so hard he would pick up the phone. Then I hid the book from myself and escaped to the internet. Wishing you a great night!
WOW!! I love this! Thank you for sharing Rachel! We hope Peyton's arm heals up quickly.
